  • What is the key criterion for a new word to be placed on the watch list? usage (widespread and sustained)
  • What sources are they based on? newspaper archives, online forums, magazines, academic studies, recipe books, ..
  • Name the stages until a word is included to the dictionary. to make a watch list, to decide on the words (headword), to gather information about the word (pronuciation, origin, usage, meanings, quotations), to draft a dictionary entry, final stamp of approval, quarterly updates

  • Derivation (suffix, prefix: hyperlink
  • Compunding (two existing words: honeymoon
  • Repurposing: crane (bird) - lifting machine
